1907
Teddy Roosevelt was President of the United States, the Wright Brothers were wowing the U.S. Army with demonstrations of powered flight, and Arizona had not yet joined the union.
That was the year F.E. Hale, a designer of sectional bookcases, formed F.E. Hale Mfg. Co. to produce and market his creations. Hale purchased the Horracks Desk Co. facility – built in 1900 – located on German Street in Herkimer, NY.
Mr. F.E. Hale retired in 1918 to be succeeded by Fred Munger as president.
