Waste Management:
The State of New York has the most stringent environmental regulations for manufacturing in the country. This has never been an issue for Hale Manufacturing because Hale has always been conscious of material waste. However, Hale did not stop at the State requirements. Hale has gone through a certified waste stream management program. The result is that all manufacturing material that leaves the factory is a commercial product. No manufacturing waste goes to a landfill. See the certification by a contractor to the State of New York.

CARB Regulation:
The Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) to control formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products drafted by California Air Resource Board (CARB) was approved on April 18, 2008 by the office of administrative law.
The new CARB regulation affects everyone in the supply chain from retailers and importers to fabricators, manufactures and distributors. The ATCM rule specifically focuses on three types of composite wood products: hardwood plywood (HWPW), particleboard (PB), and medium density fiberboard (MDF).It impacts commonly used products containing formaldehyde resins, such as furniture, flooring, crown molding, window sashes and wall paneling.
The ATCM establishes implementation of formaldehyde emissions standards in two phrases. Phase 1 was effective on January 1, 2009 and Phase will be 2010 – 2012.
All products of Hale Manufacturing meet the Phase 2 Standard. |
